Adult Faith Formation

The goal of the A.F.F. committee is to form the adults within our faith community into mature disciples of Christ through programs which address the diverse needs of an adult population.  It is our belief that catechesis does not stop after Confirmation.  We, as Catholics, need to continually strive to live our faith through our actions, our words and our dynamic relationship with God.  Ultimately, we want to ensure that each point of contact with the Church provides an opportunity for people to engage and challenge their faith.

We have formed the following committees
to begin to fulfill this mission:

Parish Library
We have a self-serve lending library in the basement of the parish center.  Hundreds of fiction and non-fiction books, movies and tapes and CDs can be checked out by parishioners.  The library can be accessed by going through the parish office.

Scripture Study
We offer courses in Scripture from the Little Rock Scripture Series.  Past courses include Introduction to the Bible, Acts of the Apostles,
Exodus and Women of the Bible.
Materials from past courses are available in the Lending Library.

Prayer Shawl Ministry
Shawls are knitted or crocheted by volunteers and caregivers of all faiths, with prayers and blessings for those in need of consolation, joy and spiritual comfort.
Contact the parish office for more information.

Ministry for the Divorced and Separated
Support and guidance are provided to those with troubled marriages and those suffering from a failed marriage.
Contact John Carmody through the parish office for more information.

Social Justice Ministry
We endeavor to educate our parish on social issues and encourage action to make our voices heard in our society.

Future groups we're hoping to establish include monthly presentations, a study group for mothers of small children,
ministering to singles and widowed and coordinating parish-wide social functions.
